MITCHELL Q’LD.

Mitchell is a town that services the local area, a cattle and sheep farming district, with a population of 990 people. 

Mitchell is situated on the banks of the Maranoa River. The economy relies on agriculture, tourism, cattle, sheep, and cypress pine milling.

Visitors can visit the Great Artesian Spa, which are natural hot springs from the artesian basin, good for relieving aches and pains.

These baths are also in the same building as the tourist info centre. 

We are staying at the Major Mitchell Caravan Park for a couple of days so we can have a look around the area. 

There’s a lot of different sculptures around the caravan park.

All made from metal. There’s also a huge fire pit which has been lit tonight to keep everyone warm as it’s a bit fresh.
