CAIRNS

We are here in Cairns now for about two weeks. 

The locals tell me it’s been raining here since last November.... and you can see it as the gardens are beautiful and so very green. 

We are staying in a beautiful caravan park on 28 acres... it’s huge.... but there is not a blade of grass out of place..the gardens and palm trees everywhere make for a very tropical setting. The mountains at the back of us look so nice with the mist on them as well. 

I shall take photos of the park when I get a sunny day to do it justice!!

This morning we went into Cairns City for a look... ( just like any other big city) but the waterfront was really nice. 

You can’t swim in the ocean (too many nasties) so they have built this lovely area to swim in with some lovely sand for the kids to build their sandcastles. 




This gorgeous flower is from a tree in the city. It’s so stunning. 

This afternoon we went for a drive up into the mountains behind us here and found a lovely spot called Crystal Cascades. 

What a gorgeous place it was. 

It was a lovely walk up the mountain as the rain came down ( not too heavy) but it just added to the serenity and quiet of the place. 

The humidity at the moment is 95%

Because of the rain...and the heat. Love it!!
