ROMA DAY 2
We went for a drive into Roma to have a look at the tourist information centre.
It was a lot warmer in there than outside. The wind chill factor was dreadfully cold.
The man that we spoke to originally came from the Gold Coast, so he was feeling the cold as well. 🥶
We could have done a tour outside and a climb up the Tower that had just opened a couple of days ago, but we weren’t really keen on it.
Roma is 515 km from Brisbane, is the centre of a rich pastoral and wheat growing district.
Roma was also the site of Australia’s first oil and gas discoveries. Roma is also home to the largest store cattle sale yards in the Southern Hemisphere, which they open up to the public to view on selling days. Apparently it’s a very popular tourist attraction !!🐂🐂
The oil rigger and his cottage.
No insulation in those walls …..🥶😳
And this is the tower we wanted to climb, but it was way too windy and cold.
Beautiful sunsets out here with lovely clear skies.
Stay safe. ❤️❤️
