YETMAN

Travelled 40 Klm to our next stop 🛑, but it took a long time as the road was terrible. 

We drove through flood plains, and while they were not in flood, the roads are so damaged from the last flood they had, I just had to go slower than normal...plus dodge all the road kill !!!🙈

There are many ‘floodways’ you need to cross and they dip down, and up really sharply, so you have to go so slow. 

But it was all part of the adventure!!

I have to be careful when I go to open my grocery cupboards when we get to our destinations as everything gets tossed around...🤦‍♀️🙄

We read about this town of Yetman being discribed as a ‘small hamlet’ so we didn’t expect much and we were prepared to stop for a cuppa and keep going.....but ....

What a another little hidden gem 💎 

There’s a shop ( which I will tell you about later....there’s a story😂) and a pub, as usual, a park with public toilets, and a dump point 💩 (where you can empty your cassette toilets ).....but across the road from the park..is a ‘caravan park’

Yetman Caravan Park!

We don’t go to caravan parks much, well this is the first one in 7 weeks, but it’s lovely. 

We have our own tennis court!! 

That’s us on the left...there’s a bus, and another caravan here with us. 

You go pay your fees at the house next door to the park, a lovely lady gives you the keys to the showers 🚿 and laundry, that has a free washing machine (very clean)

The amenities are spotless. 

And pretty..

And all this for $10 @ night for power & water 💦!!!! What a bargain!!!

So we settled in and went for a walk to the shop. I had run out of bread 🍞 so thought I would get a loaf and spend some money in the little shop. 

It was a huge shop combined with the post office , but didn’t really have much stock in the shop area itself. 

So I asked for a loaf of bread as I couldn’t see any... and she said ‘sure we have... but it’s frozen!’

So that had to do us as we may be here for a few days .... so $5.10 for a loaf of frozen bread later.... yep...you read right....😂😂😂

Doesn’t matter... we are having a great time so that’s all that matters...and the bread was nice enough!! 🍞🍞🥪🥪🥪

While walking we also found a field of corn 🌽 growing with a scarecrow watching over it wearing a bike helmet for protection of the dive bombing magpies 

And the river here has dried up which is sad 

It’s been a lovely day.....and a great trip.
