GISBORNE
Back on here again after having a break while visiting family at Bacchus Marsh. It was lovely to see the family and catch up with our gorgeous granddaughters....we’ve missed them.
So we have parked our caravan in the family’s back yard and Ed is doing a few repairs and adding a few upgrades.... and I can catch up on a few medical things...but still be with our family. :)
We went for a drive a couple of days ago to a lovely town about 30km away, called Gisborne, with a population of about 10,000.
It’s a pretty little country town, very cold, but that’s because we are now south of the ranges....so it’s to be expected.
It’s lovely and green here and there were lots of lovely walks to do. There’s a football ground here where they play Australian Rules and the local team here is “The Bulldogs”
At the footy oval was a great sculpture made out of a tree trunk...really clever..
This was the trunk of a huge tree like the one in the background....they are massive!
The courthouse and stables from long ago...
The drive back to Bacchus Marsh was absolutely stunning.
We didn’t realise how high up we were until we had to go down through the valley....it was just so pretty with all the lovely farmhouses and all the wattle trees in bloom.
