WALKAMIN
We have just found this gorgeous little gem of a caravan park in the small town of Walkamin.
It’s between two lovely towns in the Atherton Tablelands.
When we were back at Cairns, a lovely couple we met in the caravan park told us about this little gem. They told us how cheap it was and we were a bit dubious, but oh how nice it turned out to be.
The elderly couple that are caretakers here come from Murwillumbah, which is just up the road from Tweed Heads. So we had a great chat.... lovely couple.
They live in their van as well and travel around the country doing caretaker jobs. They’ve been here for 6 years now. I can understand why!
It’s so peaceful....
The camp kitchen just blew me away. There is everything in there to cook anything you like. And a comfy chair and a fire to stay warm and cosy. It does get cold at night as we are very near the mountains.
And an outdoor fire as well.
The smell is so nice.
There’s a lot to do in this area so we are here for a week.
Looking forward to exploring this lovely area. :)
