INJUNE

We have been staying at Injune Showgrounds for the last 4 days.

It was a small town in the outback but very welcoming for us travellers as they allowed us to camp at the Showgrounds and be connected to power and water for $15 dollars a night.
You were provided with old truck brake drums so you could sit around and have a campfire at night which was a such a treat.

The showers were lovely and hot and were provided with soap and bath mats as well.

You could walk into the small township and follow a walking trail of really interesting tin sculptures of the local townsfolk.

This was an old mine that flooded back in 1954 and a lot of the local people lost their lives.

This old train was used for the mine...

The old station....this person has no shame ....😂😂

Found this very old cemetery

thought that was a sweet little verse....

We went for a drive out to the dingo fence..it was built during the 1880's and finished in 1885 to keep out the dingos and wild dogs to protect the sheep flocks of Southern Qld.
It's one of the longest structures in the world and is the longest fence stretching 5,614 klm. (3,488 miles)
It starts at Jimbour on the darling downs near Dalby through thousands of Klm's of arid land ending west of Eyre peninsular on the cliffs of the Nullarbor Plain!

Found some cotton growing nearby...

We have left Injune now and are heading east for a while and have stopped for the night in a 'one garage' nothing else place in the middle of whoop whoop called Bauhinia.

It's a blistering 30 degrees which feels more like 40  in the shade out here in the bush, but luckily we have power for the night and the air con is cranking!!

Being that we have stopped at a garage/caravan park???? We have a few of these pulling in .....

Poor buggers.....wonder if they know where they are off to.....not some luscious green paddock is my bet!!!!

🐂🐃🐂🐂🍔🍔🍔 😳😳😳
