CLIFTON

We packed up this morning and left our lovely spot at Yetman.

Our plans were to stop at a free camp at Texas, which is right on the border of NSW & Queensland, but when we arrived, even though it was a lovely spot, it was far too busy for me. There were stacks of caravans, motorhomes and whiz bangs everywhere.

The town itself looked really nice, and I imagine itโ€™s kept that way with all the money being bought into the town from all the travellers, which is a good thing for the town.

So on we went.

The road from Texas to Stanthorpe, which was where we headed to pick up more supplies ......was horrendous.

Being that the road wasnโ€™t a major road, it was in a dreadful state.
There were also lots of twists & turns and 20 Klm speed limits around bends ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Also lots of cattle ๐Ÿ„ on the road again so that 90 Klm s took forever and I was glad to see the town of Stanthorpe come in to view.

So after getting our shopping, stopping for a coffee.....turning back the clock โฐ an hour ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ as we had crossed the border, we got to our next stop at Clifton.

Clifton is about 50 Klm south of Toowoomba
in the Darling Downs with a population of about 1,300 people.
Itโ€™s lovely and green out this way and itโ€™s a sweet little town dating back to 1875.

We are staying a few days at the Clifton racecourse where they allow camping โ›บ๏ธ
with about 15 other vans for $10 with power & water ๐Ÿ’ฆ lovely hot showers.

Tomorrow, weather permitting, we are going to explore the area. We passed a lovely homestead on the way in with a coffee shop so thatโ€™s on my โ€˜to doโ€™ list!!๐Ÿ˜‰
