WAGGA WAGGA

Wagga Wagga, informally called Wagga, is a major region of NSW, on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River with a population of more than 54,000.
It’s th states largest inland city, and is an important agricultural, military, and transport hub of Australia, and is midway between the two largest cities in Australia.....Sydney and Melbourne...established in 1829
In the Wiradjuri aboriginal language ...’Wagga” is thought to mean “crow’..thus Wagga Wagga...means “the place of many crows..

So funny....just found this photo of the Queen, back in 1954 when she came to visit Wagga....she was presented with a load of “sheep’s bums” to inspect...hahaha.....what was that poor woman thinking..??????

So here we are, all set up in another lovely freebie, on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River.....along with about 70 other travelers....enjoying this town.
As I’ve said before, we are not keen on big towns, but because we are camped here, its well away from the town and very peaceful....and green grass!!!

We had a lovely day at the Botanical Gardens.....
They have a little kids Zoo in there as well for a gold coin donation..

Ed had a yak to this Gala....as you do..and then he came across his favourite...

Loves the piggies.....

And ‘Fatso’ the wombat....for all us Aussies that
 used watch
“A Country Practice” on the tele.....there were kangaroos but they had little Joey’s so they stayed way back from the people...as well as roaming peacocks...a beautiful white one that didn’t like attention....can’t blame it!...and a free flying avairy.....didn’t go in there as I’m not keen on birds flying around me...no doubt I’d get pooped on!!

And that was about it for the day....we had a another lovely day exploring..

Needed a coffee...always...
