ALPHA
We left our spot at Jericho and drove for an hour or so to this pretty little village called Alpha for a coffee.
Being Sunday, there was nothing opened, except for a “Driver Revivor” which is a place drivers can pull over and for a gold coin donation, you get a coffee or tea...and a biscuit. (It’s funded by the different local councils to get you out of your car for a break so you don’t fall asleep at the wheel.)
What another pretty little village it was.
Again, there are lots more empty shops but the murals once again were lovely.
I don’t normally take photos of toilets, but they paint them to blend in.
The colours of the green grass and blue sky were beautiful together.
We then drove on and have stopped at a place called Anakie for the night.
It’s on a crossroads where you can go in four directions, depending on the town you want to go and fossick for gems.
We aren’t going to fossick, but we will come back again this way and go into all these little towns that we’ve missed like Sapphire & Rubyvale. We have only got just over two weeks to go before we get back to Tweed so we are going into Emerald tomorrow for three days. We are catching up with friends from Tweed who are there waiting for us. Then the trip back will commence. :(
