SALTWATER HEADLAND NSW

Today we went back to Old Bar which is over the highway from Taree.

We just love it there, and last time we went it was very busy, and I’d forgotten to take my camera, so it was a good excuse to go back.

It’s a very popular spot for surfers.

Saltwater Beach has special significance for the local Aboriginal community (Biripi).
This National Park contains Aboriginal sites, which relate to Dreamtime beliefs and a section of the park has been declared an Aboriginal Place for holiday
camping.

There is swimming and surfing at the ocean beach and canoeing in the Khappinghat Creek.
The lagoon is also a safe swimming spot for families.

We followed the walking track around the front to the surf beach. It’s about a 700 metre walk through ferns, paperbark trees and all sorts of little flowering plants…

And obstacles ….🤣 you need to duck through …..

But there was always a clear path……and then you come out on to a viewing platform and a beautiful view…….and that very welcome sea breeze 😊

I keep saying this, but these photos just don’t do this part of New South Wales justice at all.

It’s such a beautiful part of Australia…..very diverse…..from the beautiful mountains and waterfalls, to the lovely little beaches that are tucked away and secluded.

Just stunning………oh…and don’t let that sky fool you….it was 95 % humidity….we were dripping wet without going in the water 😉😊😊

Stay safe 🥰🥰🥰
