BARRABA, BINGARA & DELUNGRA

Well I wake up every morning and never know where we are as we’ve been to so many different towns, with so many different names!!!
I have to get the map πŸ—Ί out to check where we are!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and that’s only because I’m highlighting the map!!!

Anyway we left Manilla and continued on the Fossicker Way through some more lovely scenery. We are now in the New England region, so it’s a bit greener again.

We parked at Barraba and went for a walk through the β€˜town’ with its population of about 1,400.

So then we went on to Bingara...where the discovery of gold & copper and one of the few places in Australia have found diamonds πŸ’πŸ’Ž

It’s a pretty little town with lots of history and apparently it’s where people come to retire being that 58% of the population are over the age of 55!!

Then from there we crossed Gwydir River and drove on to Delungra.
There’s not a lot in this town, it’s a population of 220 people and it has the grand distinction of being named Australia’s lowest earning postcode by the tax department .......so Ed and I feel right at home here!! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‘

It has a bowls club which they turned into a put put golf πŸŒοΈβ€β™€οΈ for the day .... go figure πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

This is the town centre....a pub/ takeaway/motel/ caravan freebie if you go buy a meal....and a petrol station ⛽️
Where you pay your camping fees to camp at the showgrounds where we are!!! Got all that ??πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Sorry.... just love random photos of lovely old homes 🏑🏠

And the last photo is the church bell πŸ”” that’s on a bit of a lean.... but the landscape was nice in the background.

Like everywhere at the moment.... the weather is crappy.... but we can’t do much about it !!!
