GRIFFITH

From Forbes, we were told by an elderly couple we met, to go have a look at their home town of Cowra as they said that it was worth a look.
So off we went, and what a pretty drive it was, being so green.

We arrived at Cowra, and as usual headed for the Info Centre, but it was just so busy and had no hope of parking as McDonalds were in the car parking area as well.
I have to say.....what really pisses me off.....is when companies provide parking for big rigs like us....and clearly state that it is parking for buses and caravans.....and small little pissy cars decided they will park in them!!!!  πŸ˜‘😑😑 Not happy Jan !!   Rant over .....

As well as trying to park, we had great big double semi trailers parked there.....quite ironically.....loaded with cattle......the cattle seemed a bit uneasy in the car park of maccas......wonder why ?? πŸ˜³πŸ˜³πŸ„πŸ‚

So decided it was just too busy....so took off out of there and headed down to Young.
We were going to meet Mark here, as he was working somewhere in the area, but it wasn't to be as he was still in Canberra which was a shame.

So found a lovely little park and had some lunch in the caravan. I make sure I fill a thermos of boiling water every morning before we take off, otherwise it's too hot to put the kettle on in this heat...and we need our coffee....β˜•οΈβ˜•οΈ

Young is the cherry capital of Australia. Every year they auction off the first box of cherries packed, and have been able to sell it for 50 thousand dollars which then goes to charity which is great!

I have always wanted to be here when the cherry blossom is out but never seem to time it that way!
Maybe next time!!!

On to Temora. We have been to Temora before, and it's a really nice place. In fact it was voted the friendliest town in NSW and I can agree with that. The drive to Temora was a pleasant one with lots of green again, with Canola and wheat growing as far as the eye could see. We have seen Canola when it's out in flower and it's just breathtaking.

Temora is where the famous trotter Paleface Adios came from, it won 100 races in its time. He died in Temora at the age of 20 from a suspected snake bite.

From Temora, we went on to a very small place called Ariah Park. We have been here as well, but really enjoy staying here. The town has been listed by the National Trust as a Conservation Area.

This photo was taken at night, so it's a bit scratchy looking, but it's such a pretty street.

And I found this gorgeous 'ghost gum' while we were walking around the houses...

It was a very hot day there, and later that evening, Mother Nature put on a lovely show of lightning, but no rain to cool the evening down.

ThΓ‘t evening, I got a call from Mark to say hello, and he asked where we were. I told him we were sorry we couldn't catch up with him back at Young, and told him we were leaving in the morning for Griffith....and surprise surprise.....he was at Griffith for the next couple of days.
So we arranged to catch up with him the following day, when he finished work. How's that for timing??!!!

So Griffith here we come.....
