Another day camped at Jugiong, and i think i have mentioned that it is just a very small town. It was first settled back in 1820, when a Mr Henry O'Brien started grazing sheep on the Jugiong Run.
And another interest fact is, that our own famous cricketer, turned commentator, Richie Benaud, spent part of his early life here!!
How's That!!!!!!
How's That!!!!!!
There is a population of about 232 people, and i think they were all here today at the local cafe! What a popular place that is on a Sunday.
So we decided to hop in the car and have a little tour of Jugiong. It didn't take long....but we came across this......
I think the picture of the snake wrapped around the flag is quite appropriate as its very dry, and there would be a few "joe blakes" around at the moment !
We also came across these clever works of art.......
The detail on these horses are amazing, even down to the horses teeth.
We also found a very old cemetery that we would have loved to explore, but think we had better wear appropriate shoes. Don't want to step on anything nasty!
Oh and Mel, we did a pile of washing today, you know, sheets and the rest, all by hand.....now doesn't that take you back to the good old days at Rokewood !!! Fun times!!!
