Goovigen
Back at Goovigen again where the ladies from the farms put on a yummy morning tea.
There was another morning tea again yesterday, but as it was out on someones property (they change the venue every fortnight) we decided it was way to hot to be drinking coffee and eating cream cakes, so we decided not to go.
Instead we drove the 60 Klms in to Biloela to get some shopping and being that the shopping centre had air conditioning, we had a coffee and cake there.
It's school holidays at the moment and all the prices of the caravan parks have been jacked up so we will hold back a week or so before we book into Hervey Bay.
When we pulled in to Goovigen again, we noticed how dry it had become since last time we were here.
We have been away now coming up to 10 weeks and in all that time we've had about 15 minutes of rain!!
So all these people that rely on the rain for their water tanks must be looking to the skies every morning.
We are on bore water here at the camp , and we just had a guy come in from one of the properties to fill up loads of water containers on the back of his truck...we saw him do the same last time.
This is the weather outlook for the next week! π±
I think we shall take off on Sunday and head for the coast where it's a bit cooler!
Out west you get these huge willy willies
They call them 'Dust Devils' and they come out of nowhere.
Back at Duaringa, Ed had just walked over to the toilets when I could see this huge one approaching us.
I absolutely shat myself as they can grab your awning on your caravan and tear it completely off.
Even if I had tried to hold onto the awning I think I would have been blown to Kansas so I just stood there waiting. It got closer and closer then it turned and went in the opposite direction. OMG!! What a reliefπ±
Yesterday I was sitting inside the van and didn't see it coming but another one went right under the awning and straight through the other side. Ed was around the front washing all the dead bugs off the van, so didn't see it coming either, but luckily for us, it caused no damage.
This is so much fun, all the excitement we would miss out on if we stayed at home!! πππ
