CHANGE OF PLANS ...BARMERA. SOUTH AUSTRALIA 17th March 2021
So things don’t always go to plan....we know that after the year we’ve all had...and so you try again.
Last post I made we were heading to the Grampians, Victoria, after leaving Hopetoun.
We were nearly there when our car decided it didn’t fancy going south...(too cold maybe)🥶
We called out the RACV who thought it may have been the electric brakes on the caravan getting stuck on, and just to give the connections a clean.
Well we did...but it wasn’t that..so we decided the best thing to do was to head back home and get the car to our mechanic as we didn’t fancy getting stuck somewhere.
I won’t go in to the technical side of it all...(because I haven’t a clue anyway 🤣)...but it was the 4wd side of things....
So we are waiting on a part for the car.....but in the meantime we were assured by John that all will be good and to continue on our journey.
So instead of turning right out of the street...this time turned left and headed for South Australia.
So over the border we crossed.....stopped, so the fruit fly people can go through your car and caravan to check you haven’t smuggled the odd grape, apple, or dirty potato...and have now arrived at our first stop.
Barmera is a lovely small town in the Riverland region of S.A......is mostly agricultural, located on Lake Bonney, a freshwater lake.
We have set up for a few days at a recreation ground within walking distance of the small town and lake.
We have a great spot, with fresh water, very clean amenities all for $5 @ night. There’s about 6 couples here which is the maximum allowed.
So a couple of days break needed, then off travelling.
Stay safe everyone xx❤️❤️❤️
