PORT BROUGHTON

Being as it’s our last day here at Bute..we thought as we were this far up...let’s go for a drive to check out Port Broughton. (We were going to Snowtown...but we are going there tomorrow and will stay for a couple of days....as it’s on the way back to Mildura.)
So Port Broughton is a small town at the Northern end of the Yorke Peninsula on the east coast of the Spencer Gulf.....with about a thousand people there, which seemed a bit generous to me.

It was a lovely warm day...31 degrees....and yep......another pier!
So after having a coffee overlooking said pier....it was time for a walk on it.

So once again....it’s another fishing port....

And the water.....although not nearly as pretty as Wallaroo.....it had a liquid gold look about it.....

I think being at the end of the Gulf....it didn’t wow us as much ...but it was a nice little town...where everyone knows everyone and the locals are very friendly..

The pub was a nice looking building...

And what I love about this part of South Australia are the beautiful homes that are all brick.....not a weatherboard house in sight.

I imagine they would keep lovely and cool in the summer, especially with their door at the front and door out the back in line, (shotgun house I think they’re called) would let the breeze flow straight through.. in this very warm climate here. They are everywhere..

So tomorrow we move on...
