IRYMPLE JOURNAL 31.10.20
Is been over 2 weeks now since we have moved into our lovely little home.....and we haven’t stopped.
As much as I said we had a lot of “stuff” that came out of the caravan .....we’ve had to buy so much more!
We are still waiting on furniture to arrive.....but that cant be helped in these times.
Ed has also had to wait for gardening things.....as while this Covid has shut down a lot of places..the main one has stayed open......but very busy...
Bunnings.
Ed has been waiting a long time for a mower.....and at last they have arrived.
As you can see by the way the box was opened ....someone was just a tad excited.
It’s been over 30 years since he’s had his own lawn to mow in our own home!
And he felt every bit of those years the next day after he had used the whipper snipper and shovel for the edges.
We have a few strawberry plants and tomatoes that are self seeding from the last tenant who was in here for over 10 years.
I have since put fairy lights all around the fence .....just because i can :)
Over our back fence, we back on to the Irymple secondary college, formerly know as the Irymple Technical School, where both Michelle and Mark completed their schooling before we moved up to Queensland.
Apparently......so I’ve been told recently ....many a cigarette was had on these grounds of the school by my children.....amazing what you find out later on in life.......;)
Luckily we were also able to find a great spot out the front, where our van sits snugly, empty & ready to be cleaned out....to await the time the borders re-open and we can lock up and go away for a short while.
We have a big block of land to look after....as well as the back yard, we have all this frontage, and also the side area.
There are pop up sprinklers for the front and side, but we still water by hand as its relaxing.
We planted a whole heap of grass runners in the side bit here as there were a few bare patches. It’s very red sandy soil here...So its not hard to dig in to.
We are the front part of the duplex ......the lady down the back is a lovely lady that lives by herself ...and still drives her car about. She has been here for over 14 years and loves it.
We only park our car there when its rubbish bin night.....as we live in a court, we safely leave our car out the front, but bin night, the truck has to get in the court....so we park in.
So thats our little complex. We love it.
Take care everyone.
We had a storm last week....apparently it was a big one....never heard a thing ..
This is the old bridge that crosses the Murray River from Mildura over to NSW.....its since been shifted to the mariner where all the Riverboats are....and a new one was built....they were both quite high....this one used to lift up .....but the new one is higher.....And doesn’t need to open now to allow the boats through.
Another fun fact i learnt about my kids......Mark used to jump off both of these bridges in his younger (and silly) days....just as well i had no idea!!!!!!
