Today we were going to head on to Tailem Bend for a couple of days ....but we came across a few towns that we wanted to have a look through, so didn’t quite get that far.Instead we pulled in to Murrayville for a cuppa and do our usual walk around the towns we find.
It’s about 24 klm before the SA border with a population of about 200.
I always take a photo of the pubs as they have the names of the town (so I know where the photos are taken ;)
These photos are of the shop opposite the pub. Hard to work out what the shop was....but we thought it might be a curio shop..there were bits and pieces everywhere...and this is where the old couple sit every night with a beer and a fag...and watch the traffic go by!
We travelled on and had to stop at the Border of Victoria & South Aus. We had to open up the caravan while he checked the fridge for fruit & veg ( which we had eaten the night before)
I also had a little pot plant in the van (that’s not allowed because you’re not allowed to take soil over the border) I was peed off because I forgot about that...and I’d had it so long...it’s been on all our journeys.....but he walked straight past it! Happy dance!!!
Then he checked the fridge in the van, and let us go through!!
So on we went to Pinnaroo which is a bit bigger town with a population of about 700.
We parked in the town centre, and went for a wander. The weather is a bit cooler today...which is a nice change from the heat we’ve been having. Ed had to dig out his jumper today...so it must have been a bit cool!!!
Nice to see a bit of green grass...and the vine leaves are starting to turn in to their autumn colours before dropping off.
We bought a bun at the local bakery...it was yum..had another coffee and headed off to Tailem Bend.....only we didn’t get that far!
We were going along the highway and came to this little town of Parilla.
There is nothing much in this town...it has a population of about 100...maybe..but it looked nice enough to stop for the night.
It’s an “RV Friendly Town”... which means travellers are welcome to stop over in the town, they provide a place to camp, showers & clean loos for a donation to the struggling town......so we did! We stopped and donated!
We are the only ones here...but that’s ok. Just means we get a nice hot shower!

This is the post office..with wooden boxes! Never seen that before!
Haven’t seen anyone in the town :). Maybe Ed and I are the town!

These beautiful gum trees look painted!
The rock is hanging there to the left..it blends in to the bush..
And our spot for the night. Tomorrow we will get to Tailem Bend....maybe :)
