PORT MACQUARIE

We thought we might take our chances yesterday and take a drive across the highway and in to Port Macquarie.

Again, the weather was quite overcast but it was still warm and we thought we might be lucky enough to “dip our toes” in the sea.

Fat Chance!

We should have known better really…we have lived long enough on the coast ..…it’s Christmas after all, and borders are open.

It was packed. I can’t blame them to be honest. People have been in isolation, restricted from travelling and going in to our third year.

But did they have to come to the beach when we wanted it all to ourselves?
🤣🤣🤣 Rude!!

So we found a park up the top of the hill and watched the weather start to roll in from the cyclone Seth.

To be honest, it really wasn’t the best of days to be on the beach, and the weather is suppose to get worse as “Seth” continues its journey down the coast.

We did go for a drive back into the mountains today and found a little park, called Ellenborough reserve where you can camp for 14 days along the river.

We tried to take the path along the river as it was so peaceful and pretty, but once again the wind and rain forced us back to the car.

It was a lovely drive though through the mountains. It wasn’t too winding, just a pretty drive through the very lush green fields with little towns with country pubs….which are packed on the weekends with motor bike riders.

So that was our day. We have booked in for a further 3 days here as it’s quiet, and we get our booster shots on Wednesday.
They didn’t have any here in Wauchope or Port Macquarie, so we were  able to book in at Kempsey, about 49km up the road.

There’s only 3 other vans here, and at $20 a night, so much cheaper than a caravan park in Port Macquarie…..charging over $90@ night for a site. 😳😳

Stay safe 🥰🥰🥰 XXX
