HOMEWARD BOUND

After spending three days at Emerald, we are now on the road back to Tweed Heads.
It’s going to be a quick trip back, and we have been down these roads quite a few times.... but there are still quite a few nice places to write about.

We stayed at Goovigen last night....it’s one of our favourite places that we stop at when we go home this way home.
We headed off early this morning and stopped at Biloela where we noticed that a lot of the shops had closed down since our last visit which seems to be the norm with these small towns. Quite sad.....

We kept going and stopped for our morning tea at Lawgi Hall. We stayed here overnight many years ago and were surprised to see it had all been given a new lease of life with a paint job. This Hall provides space for travellers to park overnight and have a shower for a donation. There’s nothing else around except a few farms.

Can you spot the bird balancing on the tap...looking for a drink.

As you can see it’s very dry....
But I found a beautiful bougainvillea plant ...

So after our cuppa....we have now stopped at Gayndah.
It’s the oldest town in Queensland.

There’s lot of different citrus grown here.

We are camped across the road from this place.
At the back is a river which is quite low on water as are all the other rivers here.

All that sand you can see is dry river bed.

So that’s it for today....more travels tomorrow :)
