BORDERTOWN S.A
For the last two days we have been staying at a great camp spot called Recreation Lake which is a short walk into the town.
When we arrived we were the only ones here....so we snagged a great spot up on the grass overlooking the lake.
Ed walked down to the end of the pier...and honestly he would have to be the luckiest person as he can find money in the weirdest of places.
Never fails to find coins this man!
This is the BBQ area....where he also found a random 2 dollar coin just near the cooker. No one around....just lucky Ed!
That’s our caravan in the background....great spot!
There’s no power here, but our solar is getting plenty of sun, but you can get water...so a great bonus...and it’s a free camp.
We have our own en-suite ;)...and yes...it was spotless...with soap and paper towel....bonus!
A short walk into town and we found a lovely park...
This wall was decorated by every child from the local primary school. It’s a lovely little community.
Bordertown is where our Prime Minster (1983-1990) Bob Hawke was born....
1929-2019.
Unfortunately his house is now the home of the local Centrelink office...so it wasn’t worth the photo....but it was a lovely house in its time.
We did find a small display of his photos at the Tourist Info Centre. I’m not a fan of politics, but I did like this man..
Love this photo...so natural..... and the next one is the same bike..

He was a proud Aussie....and larrikin....
He was a proud Aussie....and larrikin....
We went for a long walk and found a wildlife park that just had kangaroos, ducks, birds....and white kangaroos!
Never seen white ones before.
We leave here tomorrow....it’s been so nice to visit all these lovely areas just over the border of South Australia...and look forward to coming back and seeing more of this lovely state.
XXXXX
