WOOROOLIN
We went for a drive along the Bunya Highway today and found this little town called Wooroolin.
This little town is also on the Rail Trail…..and you can stay here in your caravan as well.
It’s a pretty little town…

The Presbyterian Church opened in 1910, but like many things, it’s now used as a restaurant.

There’s also Wetlands here which was declared a Fauna Sanctuary in 1973.
The old train station which is now part of the Rail Trail.
Ed had to have a sticky as there was a notice board that read “Indoor Bowls”…….but not today 🤣
Peanut rake….
And the bush they grow on.
I forgot to mention in my last post that while I was in the Tourist Information Centre at Wondai, I spotted these painted flowers.
They are seed pods from the tree called Crows Ash, with the cutting board pictured in front of the flowers is made from the tree as well.
Also know as the Australian Teak.
The lovely old lady in the tourist centre told me that “Every tin pot town in the bush had a Dance Hall, and the floors were all made from the Crows Ash Tree being it was Teak. All the dancers loved the floor as the Teak had an oil in it and would make the floor slippery and easier to dance on”
This is why we love to travel. We get to hear all these stories from the older people in the town….and they have so many stories to tell. She was so interesting to listen too, all while she was embroidering a doily. Never missed a stitch. 🥰🥰
Oh …..and they give all the local children here in the town some of these painted seeds for Xmas to put on their Xmas trees.
Stay safe xxx❤️❤️❤️
