NANANGO QLD

Nanango is a rural town with a population of approx 3,600 people.

It’s the fourth oldest town in Qld and their principal industries are power generation and coal mining, beef and pork, dairying and milk processing, timber growing and milling, small crops, natural medicine, art and craftwork and tourism!……so it’s a productive place!

Love all the art work in these towns. 

Unfortunately a number of fires throughout history have ravaged the CBD of the town, especially the fire of 1940 which destroyed all of the shops, and this has led to the CBD to have a 1950’s feel due to the architecture of the time. It’s a lovely town, very pretty and so clean.

We are staying at the freebie camp provided by the council, about a klm out of town along with a lot of other campers. So we walk into town during the day, and at night too…when it’s all quiet. 

We are parked just behind the sign.

We went out in the car yesterday to get some shopping and when we got back, our neighbour came over to tell us how lucky we were that we did go out!

A car had come down that road (which is on a bit of a hill)…..went through a big puddle and he lost control. 

He came straight towards our caravan but managed to swerve just before hitting the van. 

If our car HAD of been there…..it would have been hit. 

The white pole with the bend in it is where he went through. 

Someone was definitely watching over us!!

There’s a peanut wagon that sells all the different peanuts  grown locally I would imagine, and she feeds the birds as well. 

Ed was waiting but she didn’t throw any his way 🤣🤣

It’s lovely to see the sun again….at last 🌞🌞🌝🌝

The local War Memorial where they’ve just celebrated Anzac Day.

And Ed will talk to anyone that will listen to him……🤣🤣
