KILCOY, QLD

We have found a camp spot at the “Yowie Rugby Leagues Club” in Kilcoy.

It’s a lovely area with about 10 campers spread out in a huge area. It’s another freebie and there’s a footpath that takes you on a short walk into town.

Kilcoy has a population of about 2,000 people with some lovely coffee shops, bakeries, IGA supermarket that sells the BEST Fresh Apple Turnovers. Yum 😋😋
(We walked them off 🤣🤣)

That’s the D’Aguilar National Park with the Ranges is the background.
Such a pretty area. We thought while we were camped up here we would go and explore the lovely walks and lookouts in the area.
Unfortunately, because of the terrible weather we’ve had, we will have to come back another time as they are all closed.

Just as well I checked ….as we all know from our last experience driving into the mountains, things can go wrong 🙄😉

This afternoon we went for a walk as not far from us we spotted a lake.
It’s called Yowie Park as apparently the “Yowie” has been spotted in these surrounding mountains.

🤣🤣🤪🤪

There was also an Art Gallery in the park, and although we are not the “Arty Farty” kind, it was free so why not!

I loved the little building it occupied so just had to have a look inside.

There were quite a few nice bits and bobs in there, but wouldn’t suit the caravan lifestyle 😊

But we went out on to the old veranda and that’s what I loved the most.

If you squint and hold your tongue right, you can actually see our caravan parked up over yonder.

We went back inside and this photo caught my eye.

The explanation of the photo went something like this …..from the photographer…

“This was taken in Edinburgh, Scotland as I was walking in this noisy, busy, crowded street full of buskers, tourists, street vendors, families, teenagers, elderly, coffee shops and loads of old buildings.

As I turned around I took this photo of this girl looking at her phone, but then saw beyond her at everyone else looking at their phones.

It just tells the story of our modern day trappings of us all wanting to know what’s happening everywhere else…….sometimes at the expense of what’s happening right in front of us”

It just made me think….as I do this blog….how grateful and lucky Ed and I really are that we can stop and smell the roses, see what’s around us, take photos and make so many memories.

Now where’s my phone? Instagram, Facebook ……🤣🤣🤣🤣 joking 😊😊 we are loving this lifestyle.
🥰🥰🥰
