DAY 7
Tuesday 9th March
The weather has again put on its best for us today.... so we went for a drive to Scarborough, which is about 6.5 Klm away along the tourist drive.
It’s a very pretty drive along the coast .... from where we are are at Clontarf / Woody Point... around through Margate, Redcliffe and around the point to the small seaside village of Scarborough.
Then around to the boat harbour.
I was trying to capture that black sail boat before it set off but I was too late. It’s called the SV Notorious.
It’s the only 15th century Portuguese caravel replica in the Southern Hemisphere and was built by a man from Warrnambool Victoria from cypress wood.
He and his wife live on the boat and travel up
& down the east coast for 11 months of the year.
It’s an interesting story.
It’s often been mistaken for the Black Pearl in Pirates of the Carribean...as I thought it was.
So by then it was lunchtime, we went back to Redcliffe to their RSL club.
It’s a lovely club with loads of memorabilia from the war.
I tried to take some photos but as everything was behind glass and was reflecting the light....I really couldn’t capture the true story of it all.
We did have a very nice lunch with a lovely view 🐠🐠🐠
Flathead fish , chips & salad!!
Another great day had ...😊😊⚓️🌴
