COOLUM
This was our last stop of our nearly 4 month trip away.
We leave here tomorrow to go back to Tweed Heads, and we’ve had the best 16 days!!
We came to Coolum about 20 years ago and we remember it as a lovely small seaside caravan park across the road from a few shops and a Bowling club that had creaky floor boards.
Now.... it’s still a lovely caravan park right on the beach across from shops, restaurants, a great beach pub, a surf club with a great view from the restaurant, and the bowls club, minus the creaky floors!!!
Of course Ed’s has a great time bowling and made some great friends.
Oh and did I mention that you don’t need to get in the car at all!!
Everything is within walking distance...even the bowls club!!
The caravan park has grown and there are loads of caravans that come and go...all shapes and sizes!!
The park also has a lot of full time travelling families .... meaning they live in their vans permanently as we do but they travel all the time.
There are a few families here that have picked up work in the area for a short time then they move on.
The kids in the park.... and there are quite a few .... are so well behaved and it’s just such a delight to watch them play all together, whether it be riding their bikes or scooters, or the girls having ‘tea parties’ or the boys playing cricket and being we are right on the beach... they have all that as well. What a great life!
We went for a drive to Maroochydore this morning which is another coastal town about 20 something Klm away as we needed a few things for the van from a certain place I usually buy from on line.
Anyway we got what we needed and then decided we would try to find somewhere to have a coffee
We ended up a huge place called Sunshine Plaza .... that has a trillion shops and are expanding!!!
Well as it’s 4 weeks from Xmas, as you can imagine, the place was packed!!
We had our coffee then got lost in amongst the crowds and bright lights when Ed, (mr havachat) yelled out ...G’day !!!
I turned to see a couple that we had met up in Kununurra, Northern Territory, many years ago!
They live in Noosa, not far from Coolum, and we did keep in touch all those years but hadn’t seen them for about three years!
It was nice to have a catch up....they have family in Geelong so they are off there for Xmas.
Sometimes it can be a small world 🌍
So we are off home tomorrow.
It will be nice to catch up with family again.
But it’s been such a great journey and we will definitely come back to Coolum.
So that’s it for this trip. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for coming along for the ride with us
A lovely warm evening for our last walk in the moonlight. 🌔💫
