WERRIS CREEK & CURRABUBULA
We left Premer and drove on through really dry farm land to the small town of Werris Creek.
It’s a nice little town that hasn’t changed a lot through the years....even the local grocer shop has the beautiful stained wooden floors and old high ceilings....
And the town had a very busy railway station...which was also a museum
Love the palm tree 🌴
So after our coffee break we headed to our next camp spot at Currabubula.
There’s nothing in the town but a pub/ cafe
But I was reading in a pamphlet I found about the pub, that it has a famous pet goat 🐐 named Igor
Igor’s talents were discovered by the producers of the movie ‘Superman Returns’ which was filmed nearby at Breeza Plains.
So Igor was in the movie and now holds an award for the Best Goat in a Supporting Role’ 😂😂😂🐐🐐🐐
We’ve met some nice campers while we’ve been here for the last couple of days....well Mr Havachat has😂😂😂
This is another ‘Donation Please’ camping spot with lovely hot showers 🚿🚿🚽🚽
But you can’t drink the water as it’s bore water, but that’s understandable as this region is in terrible drought and doesn’t have any rainwater to spare.
We can’t even buy the 10 litre containers of water out this way.....scarce as ☹️
So today we went 30klm in to Tamworth for a visit and to do a bit of shopping.
( You can’t even buy containers of water in the big supermarkets either... so had to buy a lot of bottled water 💦💧)
Sorry to the people of Tamworth.....but we didn’t like it there.
Too big....too busy....
So we went to the information place....took a photo of the big golden guitar...
And went back to our quiet little campground. 🌻🌻🌞🌞🏕⛺️🏔⛰⛺️⛺️
