our travels: CASSILIS

We didn’t get to stay at the bowls club. They only had limited sites and it was way too overcrowded for us. Plus they didn’t play bowls there anymore.....so we went on about 7 kms and found a nice rest area.

So we are here for the night then we are heading off in the morning to Gulgong Showgrounds.

We plan on staying for a few nights and we will take a drive down to Mudgee as we aren’t going that far with the van.

You can’t tell from this photo but we are up on a ridge looking down over a valley... and you might not think it....but it’s really pretty and so peaceful. Best of all ..... no flies ‼️🏞

It’s very dry out this way but now and then you come across fields of yellow Canola growing to brighten up the drive. The drive is lovely and I know I keep saying it, but it’s just so lovely to be driving somewhere we haven’t been before.

Forgot to add that I have never seen so many wombats as I have seen on this highway!!

Unfortunately they were all on their backs with their little paws 🐾 up in the air ‘only sleeping’ as my Dad would say when I was little 😂

Just had dinner and went for a stroll... lovely evening and still quite warm...
