MERRIWA
Well we thought we better โup stumpsโ before they asked us to vote in the local elections at Jerryโs Plains!! ๐๐ฎ
There were a few vans in with kids being it was a long weekend and the start of the school holidays ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ง๐ช
Was great watching the kids just be kids...playing outdoors.... look what they decided to hunt for and build.
They played in that for hours!!!
Anyway we left this morning after our last walk, filled up with water and travelled a huge 84 Klm to
Merriwa....another small town in the Hunter Valley ๐๐๐ท๐ท
The local bakery was absolutely chockers as we are nearโBathurstโ (where they have the big annual car race ๐๐๐) and everyone was feeding their hangovers ๐บ๐ป๐น....
Ed was hanging out for a pie ๐ฅง (and he didnโt have a hangover...just loves his food)
He said it was a great pie ๐ฅง๐
So we are parked at the back of the RSL club for the night. Itโs very quiet and we are the only ones here.
We walked around town and found the local heritage centre. It was interesting and inside was full of local craft.....I wanted to take home this cute lamb....
Lucky I didnโt have the room @ $60๐ฅ
I did end up buying some hand made book marks .....they donโt take up much room!!
You canโt really tell in the photo but thatโs all made out of wrought iron.
Unfortunately being a public holiday, this wasnโt open....would have loved to go inside ๐
There was another shop that was a laundromat and it was also filled with secondhand clothes, books & bags of firewood.... and whatever you took, they just asked you to donate in a tin for drought relief which I thought was a nice gesture!!!
So tomorrow we are off to a place we have found on the map ๐บ
.... a bowls club!! = me time!!
And Ed time ๐ค๐๐คช๐๐๐
