The time came today to say goodbye to the family and head back home to Tweed Heads.
Yesterday Byron and Noah went fishing with their big brother Jake, who really likes his fishing, and wanted to try a new place about half an hour out of Melbourne, at a trout farm.
They had a great time, and both Byron and Noah caught their allowed limit of three fish each.
These were two of the biggest!!
So this morning we got up at 5am, as we had a big trip in front of us. We had said goodbye to the family the night before as we knew it would be too early for them to be up.......but they were there to see us off this morning which was lovely of them. Its always sad to say goodbye, especially to Byron and Noah, as we love them just sooooo much, but we will fly them up to Tweed in their school holidays (if that's ok with their parents!!)
We travelled about 580 kilometres today, which we normally wouldn't do, but it was so hot, it was not worth stopping. We have stopped again at Gunning, which is where we stayed for about three days i think on the way down. Its been about 4 weeks since we were here last, and we have noticed how dry it has become. There are also signs around to say that snakes have been spotted and to be careful. !!
Last time here we had a terrible storm go through and a fallen branch from the huge tree we were under had ripped off our side mirror of the car. Today its very hot, and with lots of cloud cover, it will stay very warm all night.
Again there are quite a few people here, but this time it is more young, overseas travellers in rented cars. All of them very polite.
So tomorrow, being Sunday, it will be easier to get through Sydney as there will not be as much traffic, and we will probably stay at Taree for the night, which is another place we stayed on the way up.
We are keen to get home now, so we wont be taking long to get there. About 3 days, this time, compared to the 4 weeks it took to get down there.
So i hope its a bit cooler tomorrow, although as we get closer to Tweed, the weather will get more humid, which can be a bit unpleasant, but will just have to get to the beach more often.
Love you Byron and Noah.....miss you :(
