We left Jugiong on Wednesday and called in to Gundagai again to get some more shopping and petrol.

It has been a lovely 5 days just relaxing at Jugiong, and it was really hard to leave the place as we had met some lovely people....but there were more people to meet, and more places awaited us!

We looked at our map the day before, and decided to go off the Hume Highway for a change, so we headed west to a place called Wanterbadgery.....population..200 people. There was a camping ground there called Sandy Beach, which really is not a beach, as its so far inland, but there is a nice river.
So we finally found the place, but it was a bit unloved, and very overgrown, and being that i am a bit of a woosy when it comes to long grass....means snakes....we decided to give it a miss, and headed on to Wagga Wagga.

So this campground is called Wilks park, and its about 2 klm from the city centre.

Its a big campground with plenty of space to park, and you can walk into the city, over the bridge.

There are also lots of cockatoos that arrive very early in the morning, and come back to roost in the tall gum trees at dusk. They are  lovely to watch, but they are so noisy as they screech.

Once again, the camera doesn't do a great job as i couldn't get close enough.

When we arrived yesterday, the weather was quite warm, but today, it was a scorcher. I think the temperature topped 38 degrees, so  we went into town to the air conditioned shops as it was just too uncomfortable in the van.
There has been a cool change come through now though, and it has cooled off nicely which is a big relief.

We have met some lovely people here. There was a couple from Coffs Harbour, which is up on the east coast about 300 klms south of  Tweed Heads who had been away since May. They had been over in South Australia, working on the wheat harvest. She gave me a tour of her caravan....it was absolutely beautiful inside.

Then the people that are parked at the back of us are from South Australia. They have rented out their house and are travelling around for a couple of years in their new van they had custom made.  She gave me a tour of her van earlier. I cannot believe what they can fit in these new caravans, right down to the radio with its out door speakers, to its front loader washing machine!!   Pure luxury with its cream leather seats, and Italian marble bench tops!!  I can only dream!!!!!

So tomorrow will be our last day here, and its going to be a bit cooler, so i will be able to look around the town and take some more photos.
