LAKE CLARENDON, QUEENSLAND

At last!!!

We left Tweed and are now on our travels again, and headed for Lake Clarendon.

It was a good trip up as there weren’t so many trucks on the road being Saturday and arrived just in time for smoko!😊☕️🍰🧁

What a lovely spot to spend a couple of days.

It’s windy but not raining which is great. We have parked up high against the fence so the wind is behind our caravan.

Lake frontage….😊

And a lovely view of the farmlands at the back.

The lake is a rock and earth-fill embankment dam with an un-gated spillway.
The main purpose of the dam is for irrigation of the Lockyer Valley……which is rated amongst the top ten most fertile farming areas in the world.

The intensively cultivated area grows the most diverse range of commercial fruit and vegetables of any area of Australia.

(I would never have know that had we not have stopped here and googled that)
This is another reason I just love to travel😉🥰

The loo with a view. 😂😂

Ed has unhooked the caravan so we are off to explore. We are here for a couple of days, as they allow you 48hours free camping.
There’s no power, but that’s ok, the sun is shining on the solar panels 🌞🌞

We’ve been told that have beautiful sunsets here so we will see what the evening brings.

Stay safe everyone ❤️❤️
