A BEAUTIFUL FAREWELL ❤️❤️
On Sunday the 27th of June, Ed and I drove from Mildura down to Point Lonsdale to a lovely guest house on the beach..
I’ve mentioned this lovely place before in one of my stories as it’s been on my bucket list to stay here.
Amazingly, a while ago this was advertised on the Tele as part of an on line auction. Long story short…..we won the auction, and booked it for a very special reason.
This is where my Mum and Dad loved to come. Point Lonsdale is where the ships come through the heads from overseas and locally, and head to the Port Of Melbourne.
It can be a treacherous journey through the heads, so a pilot boat has to go out to the vessel, a person goes aboard that ship coming in, and pilots the boat through the heads safely.
This is why Dad loved this place. Dad was in the Navy through the war. He was on a mine sweeper, in the North Sea in Scotland. It was a very dangerous job….but he loved every minute of it.
Dads wishes were that his and Mums ashes would be scattered out to sea, but he wanted me to wait until Mum would join him.
This was the perfect place for this to happen……at their favourite spot.
So on Sunday night, Ed and I went down to the beach and on to the pier.
By the light of the beautiful Point Lonsdale Lighthouse, we scattered their ashes back out to sea to continue on their travels.
I picked some flowers from our garden and sent them out with them.
It was a beautiful send off for two beautiful people.
And I also want to say that without Ed by my side I wouldn’t have been able to get through this.
He loved my Mum and Dad as much as I did, and he helped me care for them for so many years without hesitation.
He was always there by my side through the good….and the bad times never complaining.
They were thankful for him as well.
Also to my family, thanks so much for all your words of encouragement when I doubted myself.
There have been lots of tears, lots of doubts, but I have been so blessed to also feel lots of love. ❤️❤️❤️
Goodbye Mum & Dad…..I love you so much.❤️❤️.
Vaya Con Dios xxxxx
