BORDERTOWN S.A. 22.3.21
We left beautiful Beachport this morning and travelled about 250 klm through beautiful Pine plantations, and Wine districts.
Coonawarra, the town, and Winery, being just 60km from the sea, has a maritime climate not dissimilar to Bordeaux, France. There’s so many beautiful Cellar Doors to visit in this region, and the homes are just magnificent.
We drove through a bit of rain, but as we pulled into the small town, called Bordertown, the sun has come out and we are parked for the night beside the small lake, a short walk from the town centre.
It’s lovely here and there’s a few other campers enjoying this great spot provided by the council.
The town has lovely little cafes and bakeries, and a small food land store for all your shopping needs.
Funny enough though is doesn’t have a news agency!
But one of the locals here told us that the Pharmacy handle all of that 🤣🤣
I was just reading about the town, and Bordertown, as the name suggests, is the symbolic ”border town, between Victoria and South Australia”
The fact that it is actually 20 km west of the border causes lots of typical Aussie humour. 🤔😉😉😜🤪🤣🤣
The British have a joke about the obviousness of so many Australian place names, Bordertown would appear to be a suitable example of the “bleeding obvious” 😂😂😂
So we are here for just an overnighter....then we will cross over the border....wherever it is....and start heading back through Victoria.
Take care everyone xxxx ❤️❤️❤️
