PATCHEWOLLOCK

Off again on our last leg before we arrived back in Mildura.

We stopped at Warracknabeal for a cuppa and a walk around the town.
Unfortunately this is another country town that is slowly closing its doors and shutting up shop.

The huge pubs that are all so grand are really suffering as there’s not the people in the town anymore.

I found this door that said “Ladies Rest Room” I walked in and felt like I had just stepped back in time! It was amazing...

Further in was a “powder room” and a lovely equipped kitchen where you cook anything...all so spotless. I was amazed really as there were such lovely pieces of old crockery, vases, ornaments....all there on display....with no one there.
How lovely that people are so trustworthy to just leave that for other people to admire. Again.....country towns are just the best!

So last stop was Patchewollock.....these names!!
It’s a very small town in north west...about 150km from Mildura.
As at the 2016 census...it had a population of 133... but that would be less now.
It’s another small wheat belt town

But it does have this.....

And the pub...

And out the back of the pub you find the “ the dunnies “

The train station that isn’t.....

And The Big Mallee Fowl....

So my life is complete!! :) I’ve seen the big fowl! ;)
We’ve had a great time travelling..

And thanks for sharing it with us..

I just want to say that I know sometimes photos can be boring....and really sometimes they don’t mean much to other people....as how can I put in to words the feeling I get when I see the beauty of the bush....or the sounds of the different birds....the feeling I get when I take the same steps as the ladies and gentlemen of a bygone era that climbed those steps at Singleton Railway Station...and the hardship of the men and women that were pioneers of this beautiful country of ours that i read about...I can’t really....but when I’m sitting in that nursing home ....I can read these posts again..and look at those photos....hopefully remembering them ....and these wonderful memories that Ed and I have and shared together.
We all have our special photos of places... and of very special people that we have loved, lost and shared places with.
Mildura is one of those places for me....so we will be here for a while....then we will go and make more memories. Love you all xxxx
