ANOTHER CHAPTER
JULY 2017
We left this morning about 10.30 after packing the last minute things in the van. I'm surprised the van moves with all the stuff in it but you never know what you might need!! (I won't mention that someone? ......forgot his drill which he needs to put the stabilisers down on the caravan....no...I won't mention that!
Anyway....we drove from Tweed towards Brisbane and turned off at the Ipswich/Toowoomba motor way.
From Ipswich we then head towards Esk. It's a lovely road and you go right over the top of the Wivenhoe Dam.....so pretty.
We continued on through Esk, which is a lovely little town. We have been there before so we kept going on to a small town called Toogoolawah. All up we drove about 200 klm (124miles)
They have a showgrounds just out of town where you can camp for $16.50 @ night, so we are staying for 2 nights then look at the map and decided where to go from here.
Toogoolawah gets its name from the Aboriginal words for tree..and bent like a crescent moon...so based on the term...bent tree!
We were going to follow the coast, but have decided to go inland, even though it's cold, but the days have been so warm....I have even discarded the jumper!!!
So we will head inland and then come out somewhere "up the top of Queensland " and follow the coast back down. The weather will be much warmer then for the beach :)
So that's our plans for the next couple of days....
X
