AT THE MURRAY RIVER

Had a lovely drive down to the “Mighty Murray River” today.
It was a lovely warm day.....

That’s the paddlesteamer “Melbourne” going past Apex Park.

Apex used to be our “beach” when we lived in Mildura. It’s a very popular spot for swimmers....but getting over that sand and getting down to the waters edge,  when the temperature hits the 40 and over mark, is like walking over hot coals!
Once your feet hit the water, I’m sure you could literally see the steam coming off them.......oh the relief....and then .....you never wanted to go back over that sand.

The Melbourne going through the lock.

While waiting for the boat to go through the lock....there was a huge Tongan family having a picnic and old grandma was strumming on a Ukulele playing one of their songs and they were all singing. It was just beautiful listening to it...all the little kids singing along.....magic...

I just love travelling.......
